Telangana State Government and various private textile companies in India have signed 14 MoUs on the occasion of foundation stone laying ceremony of the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park recently held in Warangal District. The investment in the park is Rs. 11,000 under a private-public partnership.
Investments worth Rs. 3,020 crores are expected to be made by the 14 firms in the upcoming Textile Park, spread over 2,000 acres of area and while signing the MOUs, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, Industries Minister K. T. Rama Rao and representatives of various textile companies and organisations were present.
Not only they signed MoU between textile units but also linked with two institutes namely Textile Training College of PSG College (Tamil Nadu) and National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Hyderabad. In order to expand facilities in other discrits of Telngana, the government has signed with eight other textile companies that will make an investment of Rs. 3,080 crore.
The park will be the biggest selling of ‘fibre to fabric’ (end-to-end) facility in the country while creating jobs for over 1, 13, 000 people which will include cotton and handloom workers.
