An exclusive selection of garments, designed by some of the biggest names of the industry, will become the subject of an exhibition set to be organized at the Bath & North East Somerset Council’s Fashion Museum from January 31.
The exhibit will showcase an array of evening gowns dating back to the early 20th century to the present day. Dubbed as ‘Great Names of Fashion’, the display will include couture pieces created by some of the major master craftsmen.
The major attractions of the exhibition include Italian designer Elsa Schiaparelli’s iconic bejewelled key motif adorned powder blue evening dress (1890 – 1973) and a strapless gown featuring a knife-pleated white silk organdie skirt (1905 – 1957) from the house of Dior.
