Vardhman Textiles Limited, one of the popular names in the textile industry, has reported a 10 per cent drop in net profit to Rs. 158.56 crore during 4th quarter ended March, from Rs. 176.21 crore in the corresponding period last year.
During the entire fiscal ended March 31, the company’s net profit stood at Rs. 981.41 crore, as against Rs. 614.59 crore in the financial year 2015-16.
The company’s total income from operations during the fourth quarter rose to Rs. 1,657.39 crore as against Rs. 1,515.27 crore in the corresponding period last year. However, its total expenses also shot up to Rs. 1,444.79 crore during the quarter under review as compared to Rs. 1,287.67 crore in the corresponding period previous year.
