Fashionistas and sari connoisseurs were present at the launch of first collection of saris made with DuPont Sorona fibre, which was displayed at a fashion show in Delhi.
Mr. Balvinder S Kalsi, president, South Asia & ASEAN, DuPont and Mr. Vikram Prabhu, regional director, DuPont Industrial Biosciences spoke about how the fabric has been developed from renewable plant-based sources instead of traditional synthetic fibres sourced from fossil fuels.
The company, which has in the past introduced innovative fabrics like rayon, nylon, and Lycra, has partnered with Reliance and Vipul for this eco-friendly collection, which not only has environmental benefits, but comprises saris that are lightweight, soft, comfortable and fashionable.
