Sutlej Textiles and Industries (STIL), a leading manufacturer of value added dyed yarns (synthetic and cotton mélange) and home textiles, was presented the Synthetic and Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council’s (SRTEPC) award for second highest exports of spun yarn for the year 2013-14, at a function in Mumbai recently.
The award was received by Mr. Dhiraj Banka, vice president (exports), STIL, from minister of textiles, Mr. Santosh Kumar Gangwar.
SRTEPC grants awards to exporters of synthetic and rayon textile items in recognition of their outstanding export performance.
Last year, STIL was also honoured with the ‘Niryat Shree’ award for its impressive exports performance.
Meanwhile, the directorate general of foreign trade (DGFT), ministry of commerce and industry has upgraded STIL’s status to ‘Star Trading House’ in recognition of the company’s impressive performance in exports.
STIL exports dyed yarn, cotton mélange yarn, modal yarn, tencil yarn, bamboo yarn, linen blended yarn, and home textiles, to around 60 countries.
In November last, STIL started commercial production of its expansion project of 31,104 spindles to manufacture value-added cotton mélange and cotton blended dyed yarn at Chenab Textile Mills, a subsidiary unit based in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district.
