The ministry of textiles has approved a Rs. 20 crore Integrated Skill Development Scheme (ISDS) for implementation in Haryana to generate more employment for the youth.
In a written reply to the Haryana Assembly, state education minister, Ram Bilas Sharma said the Rs. 20 crore ISDS is in addition to the existing schemes.
Under the ISDS, 75 per cent of the training cost would be borne by the centre while the remaining would be contributed by the state government, Sharma said.
Seven districts—Panipat, Bhiwani, Ambala, Guragon, Rohtak, Hisar and Faridabad—have been identified by the state government where textile related courses would be introduced. The courses would be in garmenting, spinning, weaving, handlooms, dyeing, etc.
The curriculum approved by Director General Employment and Training (DGET), under Skill Development Initiative Scheme based on Modular Employable Skills (MES) would be taught, Sharma added.
