The recently held Yarn Expo Spring 2015, witnessed a 3 per cent hike in visitor numbers from the previous year, who came from over 46 countries.
The three-day event, organised in the National Exhibition and Convention Center, was the second edition in Shanghai after it relocated from Beijing in 2014.
The fair displayed a variety of natural and blended yarns including cotton, wool, flax / regenerated flax, and man-made fibres and yarns as well as specialty products including elastic, and fancy and blended yarns.
“We are very happy to see the growth momentum after we achieved a significant jump of over 200 per cent last year when we first came to Shanghai,” Wendy Wen, senior GM at Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd said.
Altogether 238 exhibitors from 15 countries and regions participated in the fair. “Our members were all happy as we could make business contacts with not only Chinese customers, but also with those from the Middle East,” R. Narayanasamy, Joint Director at TEXPROCIL said.
“This year, around 30 per cent of the total visitors that came to our booths at the India Pavilion were from overseas, and the rest were from Mainland China,” he added.
