The newly-formed non-profit fashion organisation ‘Arab Fashion Council’, which has been created to promote Arab fashion designers to the international fashion market, will launch its first fashion week in November, the organiser said in a statement.
Arab Fashion Week will be a biannual event taking place in Dubai and will represent 22 Arab countries, under the Arab Fashion Council. The inaugural edition will run from November 1 to 4 in Dubai. The council hopes that by placing all the Arab countries under one destination to buyers and press from around the world will enhance the fashion industry in the region.
The council has appointed Cavaliere Mario Boselli, former president of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana and the Milan International Fair, as its honorary president. He will work with the council’s board of director and advisors, who manage and organise the strategic development plans of the organisation.
The council also plans to partner with professional organisations to promote a variety of professional business, educational seminars, workshops, courses, competitions and trips covering topics that include retail and fashion trends, international market and buyer relations, and understanding the business of fashion in the Arab market.
