Over 45 national brands from different parts of the country had participated in the 20th South India Garment Fair held at Kaling Hall, Hotel Lalit Ashok, Bengaluru on July 28.
Organized by South India Garment Association, the two-day fair drew a large number of buyers mostly from the southern part of the country to make their choice purchases before the ensuing festive season.
This is for the first time the fair was organized at an open space infront of the hotel where participants set up their individual stalls to facilitate buyers and visitors to move around the venue more freely and comfortably. The previous meets used to be held inside the hotel premises with space crisis.
However, overall arrangement was “good” and participants were happy over the infrastructure facilities available there. Representative of a renowned brand said although the overall economy and business trend at the moment was not satisfactory because of various factors, deals recorded during all two days were not that ‘bad’. Some of them, however were apprehensive of poor response from buyers even as they had initially shown keen interest for a bulk purchase.
The exhibition, which displayed various categories of garments, including shirts, trousers, shuiting, women’s and kids wears beside accessories, was inaugurated by owner of a reputed retail chain, Monohar Chetlani.
