Tamil Nadu government has allocated Rs 150 crore for the Skill Development Mission and to prepare detailed project reports for setting up of Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETPs) in the interim budget 2016-17 presented at the state assembly, according to a Tirupur Exporters Association (TEA) release.
The CETPs will be set up in Namakkal, Erode, Salem and Karur districts of Tamil Nadu, and will contribute to the growth of the textile industry and exports in the state.
Welcoming the interim budget and the allocation of funds, TEA president, A Sakthivel, said he appreciated the chief minister, J Jayalalithaa as the state has registered an average annual Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) growth rate of 8.01 per cent in real terms from 2011-12 to 2015-16.
