In response to enthusiastic market condition, Coimbatore based vertically integrated textile company, KPR Mill, has announced the commissioning of its large green field manufacturing facility.
The new facility will have a capacity to produce 36 million garments per annum under one roof, the company said. “Ramping up of the capacity will take place during the current financial year,” company sources said.
The setting up of large garment manufacturing unit is part of KPR’s plans as the company enters into its next phase of growth. The plans include adding new clients and markets, and strategically moving towards more value added yarn.
At its state-of-the-art production facilities in Tamil Nadu, the company manufactures yarn, knitted grey and dyed fabric, and readymade garments.
The yarn division has 3,53,088 spindles with a production capacity of 90,000 MT per annum. With the most modern machinery of international standards, KPR produces combed, grey melange, carded and compact yarn meant for apparel of world’s leading brands, according to the company’s website.
The company has installed wind mills with a total generation capacity of 61.92MW of green power for captive consumption at Tamil Nadu to become 75 per cent self-reliant in power needs.
