National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Mumbai hosted a grand convocation ceremony for graduating batch of 2016 at its campus lawn recently. Prashant Thakur local MLA, was the chief guest on this occasion which witnessed 208 students graduating this year.
NIFT-Mumbai director, Nilima Rani Singh, in her academic report highlighted the achievements of the last academic year like the success of diploma programmes, continuing education programmes and infrastructure related initiatives.
Archana Kochhar, fashion designer emphasized that the students should consider themselves lucky to get trained under the NIFT banner that equips them with the required skill sets to excel in the industry.
Speaking on the occasion Thakur congratulated the students on being able to pursue an academic course in keeping with their area of interest. He said NIFT students have an edge as they get professionally trained in the domain that they want to be with throughout their lives.
Meanwhile, NIFT Mumbai offered several short courses to its new entrants for the year 2016-17. It included short-term evening and weekend CE programme in design, management & technology.
The CE courses is aimed at complementing practical knowledge of industry professionals with technical education in their respective areas of work. With focus on inclusive and interactive learning, CEP provides a congenial environment that integrates theory and practical learning. Participants are awarded NIFT certificate on successful completion of the course under CEP.
