Apparel Training and Design Centre (ATDC) hosted ‘Orientation, Assessment and Certification Programme of Master Trainers of Implementing Agencies (IAs)’ by Apparel Made ups & Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council (AMHSSC) at its Gurgaon centre.
Roopak Vasishtha, CEO, AMHSSC inaugurated the programme in presence of Darlie Koshy, DG and CEO, ATDC&IAM. This is the first Recognition Prior Learning (RPL) programme for upskilling of work force in garment, made ups and home furnishing industry.
There were 36 nominated master trainers out of which 25 were from ATDC, selected on the basis of their past performance in earlier training of trainers (TOT) programme.
Addressing the trainees and attendees, Vasishtha said “The main goal is to upgrade the knowledge base and skill levels of Master trainers. The orientation programme develops them in basic pedagogy and teaching techniques.
AMHSSC has been launched jointly by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) with primary mandate of enhancing skills in the Apparel Sector.
Speaking on the occasion Koshy said “this initiative is a very significant one as it will certainly go a long way in promoting high quality Trainers to help in improving the quality of training.”
