Thiru O. Panneerselvam, Hon’ble Minister of Finance today (21.7.2016) presented the Revised Budget for the 2016- 17 in Tamil Nadu assembly.
Dr. A.Sakthivel, President welcomed the Tax Free Budget and he was glad to note that the Association’s long requisition for laying of four lane road between Tirupur and Oddanchatram has been addressed in the Budget and added that four laning and strengthening of 70 Km length of Tirupur to Oddanchatram will help for smooth transition of vehicles and also reduce the time to reach Tuticorin port, majorly used by Tirupur garment exporters.
Dr. A.Sakthivel also congratulated the Hon’ble Chief Minister for the better state performance for achieving Gross State Domestic Product growth rate in 2015 -16 estimated at 8.79%
Dr. A.Sakthivel was thankful for the Government proposal to train two lakh youth for skill development under Tamil Nadu Skill Development Mission and allocation of a sum of Rs.150 Crore for this purpose and added it is the need of hour for industries to enhance the productivity as well as quality.
Dr. A.Sakthivel also welcomed the continuance of extending 25% Capital Subsidy up to Rs.30 Lakh, besides extending Interest Subvention benefit of 3% to MSMEs and this will attract new entrepreneurs.
Dr. A.Sakthivel also welcomed for the announcement of establishing new Maternal and Child Health wings at Tirupur at a cost of Rs. 20 Crore under the National Health Mission and this measure will make primary health care accessible to the Tirupur and surrounding area people.
