Designer Aarti Vijay Gupta collaborated with Liva Reviva to present her sustainable luxury fashion collection at London Fashion Week in September 2024. The Spring/Summer 2025 collection, titled “Postcard from Kashmir,” highlighted the blend of eco-friendly materials with high-end fashion, captivating the audience with its innovative approach. Liva Reviva, known for its sustainable fibres, played a key role in elevating the collection’s versatility and style.
Gupta’s collection drew inspiration from the landscapes and cultural heritage of Kashmir, using LIVA Reviva-based fabrics to craft garments that are both beautiful and environmentally friendly. These fabrics are made from up to 30% recycled textile waste, blended with FSC-certified wood pulp, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional viscose while maintaining the luxurious feel of the material.
The collection featured traditional Kashmiri art forms like Papier Mâché and Namda embroidery, modernized through contemporary silhouettes and design sensibilities. The combination of fluid drapes, intricate details, and 3D engravings brought to life a collection that was as stylish as it was sustainable. Both menswear and womenswear were featured, with designs reflecting the natural beauty of Kashmir’s green pastures and mountains.
For the first time, Gupta introduced mesh-printed dresses and fitted bodycon styles, a departure from her signature oversized designs. The collection’s separates, clean silhouettes, and toned-down color palette made the pieces versatile, allowing them to be mixed and matched while still honoring Kashmir’s cultural richness.
Both Gupta and Liva Reviva expressed pride in the collaboration. Gupta emphasized how the sustainable fibres provided the perfect canvas to showcase the beauty of Kashmir while remaining true to eco-friendly practices, while Liva Reviva reiterated their commitment to promoting responsible fashion that is both mindful and beautiful.
