Activewear Brand H&M Move Collaborates With Special Olympics Bharat

H&M Move, an activewear concept of H&M, has collaborated with Special Olympics Bharat through their community program ‘Move Together’.

This collaboration aims to empower individuals with intellectual disabilities, providing them with platforms to showcase their talents, build confidence, and integrate more fully into society.

Special Olympics Bharat offers year-round sports training and athletic competitions for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

Leveraging the power of moving together, the partnership aims to inspire positive change and foster collective movement among communities, and partnering organizations across India.

“Our Move Together Program is not just about sports; it’s about building confidence, fostering community spirit and levelling the playing field,” said Diana Amini, Head of H&M Move Together Community Program.

Embracing theme of ‘Sport for the Promotion of Peaceful and Inclusive Societies,’ H&M Move and Special Olympics Bharat recently conducted a friendly football match between colleagues and athletes.

This event exemplified the spirit of inclusion and teamwork, offering a unique opportunity for participants to engage in meaningful interactions, build mutual respect, and celebrate the joy of sports.

“Inclusion is a way of thinking and approach at Special Olympics,” Dr Mallika Nadda, President, Special Olympics Bharat & Chairperson, Asia Pacific Advisory Council (APAC), Special Olympics also said.

“The National Education Policy of India also focuses on inclusion. Our sports program brings together people with different abilities, both on and off the sports field,” Nadda added.

Nadda further said that as H&M’s Move Together Program supports inclusivity through movement, their partnership will show the positive impact of collective efforts.”

H&M Move and Special Olympics have extended invitation to partners from all sectors to join the coalition and invest in the expansion of unified programming.

This collaboration marks a significant step towards creating a more inclusive society where every individual, regardless of their abilities, can thrive and contribute meaningfully.
