Being Human Clothing’, a collaboration between Mandhana Industries and Salman Khan Foundation, plans to enter the activewear category by April this year.
“In India, it is just the global players who are dominating the segment. Since no significant national player is present in this category, and youngsters today are involved in some form of fitness activity, we see a big opportunity to provide value-for-money products,” Manish Mandhana, managing director, Mandhana Industries said.
Being Human Clothing, which offers casual wear for men and women, is present across 16 countries including Middle East, Nepal, Europe and South Africa. This year, it plans to add a segment for boys aged 6 to 16 years. By March, Being Human Clothing will make its debut in France, Mandhana said.
The combined market size of active sportswear goods, including sports footwear, apparel and accessories in India is Rs. 6,000 crore and it is growing at 13 per cent year-on-year.
The brand is targeting a turnover of Rs 220 crore this fiscal, according to company sources.
