To improve lifestyle of craft persons in textile and apparel sector, Jharkhand Government through Jharkhand Silk Textile and Handicraft Development Corporation Ltd (Jharcraft) adapted several measures to market its ethnic textile and handloom products in the country.
Jharcraft, a government of Jharkhand undertaking, was formed to initiate steps to provide sustainable livelihood opportunities in the rural areas, based on sericulture, handloom, handicraft and other allied activities.
State’s chief secretary Raj BalaVerma said that the major benefits of policies of Jharkhand in the textile industry is that it is offering major incentives for the investors and providing 50 per cent of the rebate for land acquisition tax.
Jharcraft managing director K Ravi Kumar said that corporation hopes to provide a platform to the artisans and weavers to merchandise their products, through the maximum utilization of resources and manpower of Jharkhand.
Entrepreneurs from the Jharkhand, will promote silk, lac, traditional and other handicraft products depicting cultural heritage of the state during the Global Fair 2018, to be held in Dubai, Verma said.
