The four-day India Carpet Expo drew 372 buyers from across the globe and generated business worth over Rs 650 crore.
“Importers from countries like Vietnam, Siberia, Hungary and Zimbabwe registered their presence for the first time in export and opened new evenues for establishing business relations with there countries,” Carpet Export Promotion Council chairman, Kuldeep R Wattal said.
First-time buyers, he said, were given 50 per cent subsidy. “Our purpose of promoting small medium exporters stands fulfilled as they generated good business.” The expo was held in New Delhi between March 27 and 30. The next event will be held in Varanasi in October.
