The Young Entrepreneurs Group (YEG) of Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) has elected Prashant Mohota, managing director of Gimatex Industries, its new chairman.
In a short span of his business career, Mohota has helped his company grow manifold and spread its wings to various locations across India. Under his spirited leadership, the 118+ year-old Gimated has turned into a lean, IT-savvy and innovative company.
He is also the main promotor of Hinganghat Integrated Textile Park (HITP), first textile park of Vidarbha (Maharashtra) approved under SITP.
YEG is a forum for young entrepreneurs in the textile industry holding management positions. Any entrepreneur less than 40 years of age and holding a managerial position in a textile unit is eligible to join the group.
The YEG elected Ashish Saraf, chief financial officer of Technocraft Industries as the vice-chairman at a meeting in Mumbai on June 30.
Congratulating the newly elected YEG team, CITI chairman Naishadh Parikh, said, “We want more young entrepreneurs in CITI’s board. I am confident that they will bring some fresh energy to the Confederation.”
