An interactive session on ‘Innovation & Competitiveness in Textiles & Clothing Industry’ organised by Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) in Ludhiana yesterday.
“In view of the mounting manufacturing cost worldwide, focus on productivity to improve the bottom line has become important for textile businesses. Technology has become vital in helping them to achieve it,” S. Sunanda, Secretary-General, CITI in hew welcome speech said.
The Indian textile industry and the importance of ‘innovation and technology’ in the present competitive scenario in the global textile market and stressed on using advanced methods of manufacturing textile and how it fetch better returns for the manufacturers, D.L. Sharma, Vice Chairman, CITI & Director, Vardhman Group in the conference said.
Furthermore, a panel discussion was held at the event and Bino George, Principal Business Consultant, Infor India highlighted the emerging trends in the global textile industry and suggested how technology innovations can help the manufacturers better address the market challenges.
Around 50 delegates from the industry attended the conference.
