Indian Handicrafts have seen a consistent growth in exports to the Latin American region over the years. The country recorded a jump of 10.52 per cent in FY 2016-17.
Keeping the growth in mind, the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) has hosted a three-day Buyer-Seller meet in Lima, Peru from March 15-18, 2018 to promote the Indian Handicrafts export. The meet was supported by the Embassy of India in Lima and Lima Chambers of Commerce.
At least 34 Indian exporters have participated in the meet organised at Jockey Plaza Convention & Exhibition Center in Lima organised by India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO). The buyer-seller meet was inaugurated by M. Subbarayudu, Ambassador of India in Peru and Eduardo Ferreyros Kuppers, and Minister of Foreign Trade & Tourism, Peru, to meet the best match for the Indian companies in the region that would be keen in sourcing handicrafts products from the former.
A wide range of handicrafts, houseware home furnishing, garments & made-ups, shawls, scarves, fashion jewellery & accessories, jute bags and fashion garments were displayed at the meet.
