In a significant celebration of trade and cultural exchange, the Brands of India trade show, organized by the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI), kicked off its maiden edition with a grand inauguration by Butti Saeed Al Ghandi, Vice-Chairman of the Dubai World Trade Centre. The event promises to captivate the MENA Apparel industry at the Dubai World Trade Centre from November 27th to 29th, 2023, showcasing over 350 brands across various clothing categories.
Supported by key entities like the Embassy of India-UAE and prominent trade associations, the show signifies the rapid influx of Indian businesses into the UAE market post the India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) in 2022.
Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce & Industry, lauded the platform as an excellent opportunity for Indian brands to establish themselves overseas. He emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting a modern, world-class textile sector and commended CMAI for fostering international linkages for Indian brands.
Rajesh Masand, President of CMAI, highlighted the historical ties between India and the UAE and how Brands of India will further strengthen these connections, positioning Dubai as a gateway for Indian businesses into Africa.
The Vice-Chairman of the Dubai World Trade Centre emphasized the event’s role in fostering bilateral ties and transcending borders through fashion, promoting diversity and showcasing the vibrant tapestry of Indian brands.
With over 1500 pre-registered buyers from 30 countries, the show has created significant business prospects for Indian brands in the MENA region. Renowned brands like Louis Philippe, Biba, and Van Heusen are among the 350 brands participating, showcasing a diverse collection ranging from Western wear to Fusion and Indian Ethnic wear.
Brands of India, initially conceptualized with 150 top apparel brands, has exceeded expectations, presenting an expansive collection across Men’s wear, Women’s wear, Kidswear, and Fusion wear, solidifying its status as a pivotal milestone in the journey of Indian apparel brands towards global recognition.
