The 15th Edition of Garknit-X, a major machinery trade show on apparel, leather, embroidery and jute technology began at Science city ground on the eastern part of the city today. The fair was inaugurated by ex-chairman of WBTIDC, Mr. Dinesh Bajaj in presence of industry leaders in the city. It is the largest technology exhibition of East India participated by both Domestic and International machinery brands with showcasing their products to the visitors. He inaugurated it with a great fanfare and enthusiasm.
Organised by Bangalore-based Vardaan Event Pvt. Ltd. in association with ‘Apparel Talk’, the three-day fair will see a massive display of latest machinery in different segment, including textile, readymade garment, embroidery, digital printing etc. About 100 brands both of international and domestic are participating in the fair, which is been held once in a year in this region.
Since Kolkata is a gateway of this region as well as countries like Bangladesh and Nepal, the fair is very popular to buyers who are keen to adopt modern technology to the respective units to boost production capacity.
There was a significant number of footfalls on the opening day of the fair and it will further increase in the sub-sequent days organisers sources hoped.
