In line with the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) policy to work for the benefit of the organic textile community worldwide and adopt latest changes and innovations, it has released a 20-minute video outlining the new criteria and specifications or clarifications of differences between GOTS Version 3.0 and 4.0.
The video is useful both for companies wishing to get a good overview of the standard and the changes at the same time, and to use it for internal training.
The new video highlights changes in new version, including the ones about new 30 per cent rule for recycled synthetic fibres and regenerated fibres from sustainable sources. The video is aimed at enhancing the skill level of both operators and certifiers.
“The video makes it really easy to understand current version of our standard. We shall also be showing this video during the 1st International GOTS Conference to be held in Mumbai on May 22”, Sumit Gupta, GOTS representative in India and Bangladesh said.
GOTS is recognised as the world’s leading processing standard for textiles made from organic fibres worldwide. It defines high level environmental criteria along the entire supply chain of organic textiles and requires compliance with social criteria as well. GOTS certification ensures organic status of textiles, from harvesting of the raw materials, through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing up to packing and labelling in order to provide a credible assurance to the end consumer.
