Bolstering the business ties between India and Bangladesh, a two-day textiles exhibition , engaging 22 top Indian textile companies showcasing both machines and textile products like suiting, shirting, dress making equipments, embroidered dresses, fine fashion fabrics, home textiles and other homemade products kick started on Monday in Dhaka.
Almost 22 leading Indian companies displayed their latest range of textile items in Dhaka such as male dress materials, embroidered fabrics, high fashion fabrics, furnishings, home textiles, scarves, stoles, shawls, laces, synthetic, traditional female dress and blended yarns under one roof.
It is intended to provide a unique opportunity to business community of Bangladesh to see the quality and range of Indian fabrics and yarns, for establishing personal contacts for mutually beneficial business tie ups.
“We can only aspire to go ahead if we collaborate because there is natural synergy between the Indian textile industry and the Bangladesh readymade garment industry because we are your closet neighbour, and the supply chain exits and delivery schedules can meet your requirements,” said deputy high commissioner of India in Dhaka Mr. Sandeep Chakravorty.
India could emerge as the second largest producer of cellulose fiber/yarn and fourth largest producer of synthetic fiber/ yarn in the world.
“We are manufacturers of yarn and fabric and we want to export our product to Bangladesh, which is a growing nation in textiles. So, we are here and we are feeling extremely happy, the overall arrangement is extremely good,” said an Indian businessman Mr. Jayesh Dalal.
Bangladesh junior’s Textiles and Jute Minister Mr. Mirza Azam inaugurated the event, which was organised by Indian high commission in association with Bangladesh business chamber. (ANI)
