India’s kidswear manufacturer, Kitex Garments Ltd. is planning to increase its garment production of just-born and babies up to 2 years of age by more than 3.5 times. They have decided to raise the production capacity from the current six lakh pieces of garments per day to 22 lakh pieces per day by 2025 to meet increasing demand, company’s chairman and managing director, Sabu M. Jacob said.
The planning requires an investment of Rs. 2,000 crore which would be raised through capital subsidy, internal accruals and debt. Fresh investment and machinery for spinning, processing, knitting and sewing will be added from 2018-19 onwards, Jacod said.
Kitex garments Ltd. also aims to reach 60-70 per cent of its target by 2022, if it had not been facing issues of training workers, he added.
