The ‘Holden Medal’ for Education, by ‘The Textile Institute, Manchester, UK’ will be conferred on Dr. Darlie Koshy, DG and CEO of Apparel Training & Design and Centre (ATDC) and Institute of Apparel Management (IAM) at a function at Poznan, Poland on April 28, for his outstanding contributions in technology based education at the levels.
The prestigious Holden Medal is given bi-annually by The Textile Institute, Manchester. Koshy is the second Indian to win this International Award. Koshy, was the founding head of fashion management at NIFT (1987-2000) and was at the helm of NID, Ahmedabad as the director for almost a decade (2000-2009). He has been working as DG & CEO of ATDC with about 200 centres and IAM with its campus in Gurgaon since January 2009.
Expressing his pleasure on the selection for the award, Koshy, said, “I am delighted to be selected for the Holden Medal for Education by The Textile Institute, UK which is truly an International recognition. No single individual can claim the ownership of ideas and transformation of Institutions like NID or NIFT or ATDC and IAM where I have spent nearly 3 decades. The Institutions are bigger than the people. Yes, I feel indeed happy and honoured that I have got the opportunities when I did for the contributions I have made in Education especially in the areas of design, fashion and management education”.
