Luxury fashion and lifestyle brand Sabyasachi launched its new resort wear line at its flagship stores across the world on May 6.
The clothing and accessories line offers a mix of traditional, fusion, and western wear for both men and women.
“Love, wanderlust, curiosity. Fine resort wear made with Japanese cotton, Indian silks, recycled nylon and hand-washed denim,” the brand announced on Facebook.
“Detailed with artisanal heritage embroideries and original prints created by Sabyasachi Art Foundation. With a new repertoire of fine and high jewellery from the house of Sabyasachi,” the brand added
“The collection features classic occasion wear looks such as sarees, given a resort wear twist with minimal embellishments and lightweight textiles,” Fashion Network reported.
Retro style dresses and relaxed fit sets with Sabyasachi’s own take on toile de jouy prints mix with playful fringing, jumpsuits, and mini dresses for women.
For men, 1970s cut ensembles, waistcoats, and exaggerated pussy-bow blouses make for a playful yet refined aesthetic.
Accessories in the collection bring in Sabyasachi’s signature love of embellishment with straw sun hats decorated with jewelled adornments and clutch bags featuring the label’s classic Bengal tiger motif.
The global facing collection shows designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee’s increasing focus on a global audience.
The collection was also seen with its recent pop up at Saks Fifth Avenue in Los Angeles, US and the label’s new collaborative makeup line with Estée Lauder.
