Japan-based sportswear company ‘Mizuno’ is set to foray into the Indian market.
This followed an exclusive distribution agreement with a major local sports distributor Stag International, which has tie-ups with global brands like Nike, Adidas, Disney and NordicTrack, The Japanese brand will enter the country with its latest spring-summer 2016 collection in October, 2015.
Kiyoshi Tatani, president, Mizuno Singapore Limited, said, “There is no better partner who understands both retail and distribution as Stag. The current brands that they distribute are all global leaders and therefore Mizuno is a perfect fit- being a global brand.”
Expressing his delight over the launch, Rakesh Kohli, chairman of the Indian distribution company, said, “We are very excited to distribute Mizuno brand in India. Mizuno is a global leader in sports footwear and apparel and with our experience of working with international brands and knowledge of the Indian distribution and retail environment – we aspire to make Mizuno the number 1 sports brand in India,”
The company will sell a wide variety of products, under running, soccer and indoor sports categories, across India through an extensive distribution network which will include exclusive stores, multi-brand outlets and online sites.
