Revenue from the lifestyle and fashion segment at Kumaramangalam Birla led Aditya Birla Nuvo Ltd (ABNL) climbed 8.0 per cent from the prior year quarter in the three months to December 31, 2014.
ABNL said its sales in the lifestyle and fashion segment, which includes branded apparel and textiles expanded 8 per cent year over year to Rs 1,676 crore in the third quarter of fiscal 2015.
Third quarter of fiscal 2015 sales from branded apparels and accessories rose 9.53 per cent to Rs 1,349.22 crore as against Rs 1,231.82 crore in the same quarter last fiscal.
Revenue at Madura Lifestyle, the branded apparel segment mounted 7 per cent to Rs 913 crore and its EBITDA too fell to Rs 102 crore from Rs 116 crore due to higher discounting and weak footfalls.
Pantaloons Retail sales too augmented by 7 per cent from the year earlier quarter to Rs 450 crore, while its EBITDA also slipped to Rs 31 crore from Rs 35 crore mainly from moderated sales growth during the quarter.
In textile segment, Jayshree Textiles reported a marginal uptake in sales at Rs 336 crore during the quarter under review and here also EBITDA reduced to Rs 35 crore from Rs 50 crore from lower linen fabric realisations.
Overall ABNL sales increased even more slowly at 1.11 per cent to Rs 6,539.35 crore from Rs 6,467.50 crore from the previous fiscal’s third quarter.
ABNL reported a net profit rise of 6.62 per cent from the year ago quarter rise in its December quarter to Rs 368.14 crore thanks to higher revenue and lower employee costs.
