Major US lifestyle products manufacturing company, Ralph Lauren is on negotiation with Aditya Birla Fashion and retail for an Indian debute through franchisee route, providing further evidence of the South Asian nations rising affordability quotient for luxury.
The first store for the New York based fashion giant, which was founded 50 years ago, is likely to open in the Emporio at Chanakyapuri in New Delhi, according to sources closed to the development.
“Birla group is an advance stage of discussion with US company and the store should be up in the next seven to eight months.’’
When contacted, both sides declined to comment saying, ‘We do not know anything on this right now.’
