The 5th edition of TANTU seminar is set to roll out with a trending theme ‘Performance Textiles: Athleisure and Active Sportswear’ on September 16, 2017, at India International Centre in New Delhi.
TANTU, an industry body of experts and professionals from the textile sector, provides a platform for debates and discussions on key issues. This year’s TANTU seminar will discuss the challenges and India’s preparedness for the segment. Most of the international performance apparel brands have already entered the Indian market. The rising trend of athleisure is driving Indian brands as well to actively venture into this category.
The seminar will be followed by panel discussions by national and international experts. “The seminar is a rare congregation of experts and practitioners from athleisure and active sportswear domains. The deliberations of the experts will solve the problems of the brands, help them capitalise on opportunities in this emerging high growth segment and establish it as India’s strength,” president and chairman, TANTU, Dr Prabir Jana said.
The panel includes some of reputed names of the industry such as Anurag Jaichand, Head Technology & Innovation, Woodlands, India; Bhupinder Singh, Head Creation Centre & Sourcing, Wildcraft, India; Bijesh Todi, Managing Director, T10 Sports, India; Deepankar Sekhri, Production Process Manager, Decathlon India; Roshan Baid, Managing Director, Alcis, India among others.
“Athleisure and active sportswear categories are predominated by the international brands. However, the better priced and value for money products can help the domestic brands to find space in the market,” Bijesh Todi, managing director, T10 Sports said.
A discussion will also be held on ‘Manufacturing Challenges’ and ‘Markets & Opportunities’.
