Minister of textiles, Smriti Irani, has assured to address the issue of lack of manpower in technical textiles sector of the country while speaking a curtain raiser event of Technotex2017. The event will be held between April 21 and 23 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre at Goregaon in Mumbai.
The fair, an annual event, is jointly organized by the Indian Government and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
Irani also asked the industry to define the requisite skills to get support from government. After defining the skills, the next task would be to bridge the manpower gap in which the industry would be supported adequately by the government, she added.
The event’s main objective is to transform India into a technical textile manufacturing hub. This edition of the event is expected to attract several players from countries like Korea, Switzerland, Japan, the US, Germany, Sweden, Belgium, the UK, Luxembourg, Austria, Italy and many more, in the technical textile domain with its theme ‘Technical Textiles – Towards a Smart Future’.
