The Vidarbha region of Maharashtra would be projected as a future textile and garment hub of India at the 12th International & 70th All India Textile Conference, to be held at Dr Vasantrao Deshpande Auditorium, Civil Lines in Nagpur from January 17.
The two-day conference will be held under the theme ‘Cotton, Textile & Apparel Value & Supply Chain: Global Opportunities & Challenges’. “The conference theme can foresee a desired development at every stage from fibre to fashion and translate the thought process into action to achieve value added growth,” conference chairman and honorary secretary of the Vidarbha unit of the Textile Association (India), Mr. Hemant Sonare said.
“The conference will boost confidence of existing and budding entrepreneurs to act as change agents and develop integrated framework to make Vidarbha as a future textile and garment hub of the country,” Mr. Sonare said. It also will encourage local entrepreneurs who are keen on ensuring an integrated and holistic development of Vidarbha.
Over 900 delegates comprising senior members, decision makers, and reputed textile professionals representing the entire textile value chain are likely to participate in the conference. The Textile Association of India (TAI) is the largest textile professional body of the country, consisting of 23,000 members with 26 affiliated units.
