The department of industrial policy & promotion in collaboration with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) to showcase the prowess of the country’s robust manufacturing sector will be hosting ‘Weaves of Banaras’ as part of the Make in India Week to be held at ITC Grand Central in Mumbai, on February 14.
Conceptualised and executed by the FDCI, the show will celebrate the crafts of Banaras, its luxurious weaves and the skills of the weavers, hoping to give viewers a phenomenal experience. They will soon be announcing the coveted list of designers participating at the fashion show.
Sunil Sethi, president, FDCI said that they would like to express their gratitude to Amitabh Kant, secretary DIPP for giving FDCI a coveted opportunity to collaborate with them at this prestigious platform.
He also said it is an honour to contribute to the ‘Make in India’ movement which is now gaining momentum. FDCI assures that the audience will be awestruck by the charms of the Banarasi weaves created by their designers.
